The ClampOn Subsea Corrosion-Erosion Monitor makes its way to market

Since the introduction of the ClampOn Subsea Corrosion-Erosion Monitor (CEM) at OTC in May 2011, ClampOn has sold ten such systems to major operators. All systems will be delivered this year and one of the systems will already be operational by the end of December. There is an enormous need for such systems to ensure the integrity of the pipelines for the operators, and the CEM represents a solution that is cost effective, accurate and reliable. The Corrosion-Erosion Monitor has been very well received in the market, by both operators and engineering companies alike.
The benefits for the operator are huge. The system:
- Monitors and quantifies changes in wall thickness over a large area of the structure
- Can estimate corrosion-wear rates
- Can be retrofitted to existing pipelines and structures
- Is non-intrusive
- Can be deployed at hotspots to monitor the potential development of erosion
- Can extend the lifetime of subsea pipelines and structures
- Can be installed as a permanent installation on new pipes
