Data acquisition systems are normally placed on site and are connected to highly secure process networks.

The people who need the data on the other hand may not all be at the same site, nor have the training or time to maintain the system. One solution to this problem is to provide remote access, however the more access you allow, the more difficult it becomes to do it in a safe manner. This has led ClampOn to develop an alternative - hosted monitoring. Instead of allowing remote access to the oil and gas installation, the sensor raw data is streamed to servers and software hosted and maintained by ClampOn.
Users can then log onto the ClampOn servers with a regular web client to view the trends, or subscribe to alarms and reports generated by ClampOn.
ClampOn hosted monitoring reduces the need for equipment on site, maintenance and training – and ensures that everyone has access to high quality data.
