Event Description
ClampOn Non-Intrusive Corrosion-Erosion Monitoring with Tomography for Asset Integrity
Corrosion and erosion are costly issues for a wide variety of industries specifically upstream, downstream oil and gas and chemical processing. Real time monitoring of wall loss provides operators with the opportunities to make decisions and process adjustments before excess piping damage has occurred.
The patented ClampOn Corrosion-Erosion Monitor (CEM) has been designed to monitor the average wall thickness of pipes utilizing electromagnetic acoustic (EMAT) transducers. The system uses guided lamb wave technology to propagate guided waves through the wall of the pipe and readings are compared back to base line readings in order to detect changes in the wall thickness. The technology hardware is non-intrusive to the flow, real time, retrofit installable with subsea and topside versions available.
