Always Numero Uno

We received the award for our development of the ClampOn Subsea Corrosion-Erosion Monitor (Subsea CEM); a project realised with the support of BP and Innovation Norway.

The award has helped us focus attention on the Subsea CEM, attention that is vital when launching a new product on the market. The technology used in the Subsea CEM enables operators to monitor the rate of erosion or corrosion in their pipelines.
The instrument comprises up to 32 ultrasonic transducers installed on the outside of a section of pipe up to two metres long. The transducers “talk” to each other and the ultrasonic signals passing between them change as the pipe wall thickness reduces.
At the moment we are the only manufacturer that can offer technology that can measure erosion or corrosion on the pipe itself in water depths of up to 3000 metres. Since receiving the award, we have signed contracts for deliveries of the Subsea CEM with operators, large and small, in the North Sea, the Gulf of Mexico and Asia. Without doubt, competing systems will enter the market at some point, so one of our tasks is to stay ahead of the game and to remain your “Numero Uno”!
