Houston on the road to Recovery after Harvey

“As Hurricane Harvey is closing in on us, there is only one that thing that matters – Stay safe”, the words of ClampOn, Inc.’s President Trond Olsen, who remained focused on the safety of employees during the first major hurricane to make landfall this season.
ClampOn, Inc. is located in the heart of the Energy Corridor wedged between both the Addicks Reservoir and Barker Reservoir, which was miraculously spared during hurricane Harvey and experienced no flooding or damage. Unfortunately, we could not say the same for the surrounding areas, as Harvey pounded Houston with nearly 50 inches of rain. The reservoirs unable to withstand continued rain, caused catastrophic flooding to local highways, neighborhoods and businesses.

Our employees who live all over the Houston area from Kingwood to Tomball, the Heights and Katy area were safe and on constant communication with each other throughout the storm.  In the aftermath of Hurricane Harvey, ClampOn wanted its employees to have options; if you are unable to come into the office in a safe manner, do not come in but instead work from home if you can; if you have damage to your property and belongings, spend time taking care of it and do not come in; if you would like to volunteer instead of working from the office or at home, please do so.
Many of our employees wanted help those affected by the storm. John living in the Katy area spent time helping neighbors who were flooded not too far from his home. Marquita volunteered with Keller-Williams Cares in north Houston sorting through truckloads of donated supplies with many others to prepare items for people in need. Lucas quickly came to aid in volunteering at the GRB Convention center and BBVA compass stadium sorting supplies and helping around the facility. Both Joel and Trond and their families assisted neighbors who experienced flooding by helping to clean and gut homes.

In wake of Hurricane Harvey, we at ClampOn are reminded that we are not just a team inside the office but outside of the office as well. With our community on the long road to recovery, ClampOn plans to contribute to local organizations supporting the reconstruction of homes and re-establishing of lives. A donation of Three-thousand dollars will be made to Rebuilding Together Houston, an organization focusing on restoring hope and revitalizing neighborhoods for low-income elderly homeowners and a donation of Seven-Thousand dollars will be made to United Way, with a focus on rebuilding of communities specifically in Fort Bend and Harris Counties.
